Pop Up Operas will take place (at a distance) in neighbourhoods, on street corners, in parks, and outside retirement residences and care facilities. Each day the singer(s) will pop up in surprise locations for 10 minutes of music. Pop Up Opera features one or two singers accompanied by recorded tracks created by pianist Robert Holliston. All summer long, opera singers will be travelling and performing in public spaces throughout the Capital Regional District four days per week – Saturdays, Sundays, and two weekdays. Pacific Opera is jumping in a hybrid-electric van and taking opera to the streets.
